StormBlok Storm-Protection System

System deflects up to 90% of wind load during storms, company reports

StormBlok (Palmyra, NY) is presenting its patented sign-protection system. The system entails installation of permanent brackets around the sign’s border and, when hurricanes or severe storms are predicted, a sheltering frame and fabric sheath is installed over the sign. According to the company, the system, whose frame and sheath can be installed in 15 minutes, reduces wind loads by 60 to 90% — the higher the velocity, the greater the percentage of reduction, it reports – and protects the surface from debris while eliminating buffeting inside the sign. The sheath may be inkjet printed to present the customer’s logo while the signface is concealed.
