What Does Trust in Your Hands Mean to You?

Sears asks you to interpret that slogan.

A huge hand that grips a Craftman wrench promotes Sears’ Craftsman brand on billboards in Chicago and Indianapolis. The tagline, “Trust in Your Hands,” appeals to DIYrs. The company also asks people to submit their own photos, via contest on Twitter, to create their own billboards that feature their favorite Craftsman tool in an outrageous location. Ten winners will get a Craftsman C3 tool package. The campaign runs through July 2. To submit photos, snap a photo and send it to the @CraftsmanClub handle on Twitter.

The Craftsman wrenches comprise a tubular steel frame. Printed, flexible-face vinyl graphics were applied to the MDO signboard surface. The panels were built in three sections to allow for shipping. The hand splits down the center, and the wrench forms a third section. A mounting frame clamps to the support pole of the board and bolts to the panels. Atomic Props (Oakdale, MN) built the prop and the illuminated letters. Kubin-Nicholson (Milwaukee) printed the vinyl. Installation was handled by the various posting companies: CBS Outdoor Chicago, Clear Channel Outdoor Chicago, Lamar Advertising of Indianapolis and Clear Channel Outdoor Indianapolis.
