What on Earth Is Towel Day? Check May’s Calendar

MAY Starting with a month-long celebration, MAY is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, a chance to take time to reflect and celebrate the important role that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) have played in our shared history.

20 National Rescue Dog Day is MAY 20. Considering a canine companion at home or work — how about adopting a rescue dog? There may be kindred spirits at your shop. Or if you’re not quite there yet, consider volunteering either sign work or in person for a local adoption event.

22 If MAY 22 is your b-day, it’s elementary, my dear Watson. You share it with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Birthday. Doyle (1859-1930), creator of and made famous for Sherlock Holmes stories, actually preferred writing historical novels, penning seven nobody ever read.

25 Towel Day on MAY 25 is more about another author than drying things. “A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have,” wrote Douglas Adams in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. A towel is pretty handy around the shop, too!
