In Mount Gambier, Australia, the city council has earmarked $1.5 million for city center revitalization, including new signage, according to The Border Watch, a local newspaper. One aspect of the plans is to create new wayfinding signs that will point out local attractions and walking times to them. City officials hope this will encourage residents to stroll the streets. They also hope that new pavers and added foliage will encourage absentee landlords to maintain their properties.
