Avery Dennison Corp. (Pasadena, CA), parent company of Avery’s Graphics and Reflective Products division, celebrated its 75th anniversary with Dean A. Scarborough, Avery Dennison’s chairman, president and CEO, ringing the New York Stock Exchange’s closing bell on June 2. R. Stanton Avery developed the world’s first self-adhesive label and label-making machinery and founded the company in June 1935. According to the company, Avery’s first six months of sales totaled $1,391. Today, it’s evolved into a $6 billion company.
