Barco and Orad Integrate Video-Wall System and PowerWall Interactive Wall Controller

Barco (Kortrijk, Belgium) and Orad Hi-Tec Systems (Kfar Saba, Israel) have collaborated to integrate Barco’s OV-D2 video-wall systems and touchscreen technology with Orad’s new PowerWall interactive video-wall controller and rendering software. The new solution provides real-time backdrop interaction on high-resolution video wall surfaces.

The PowerWall turnkey system is based on the HDVG platform, which provides a 4k-resolution output from a single box. PowerWall outputs four, separate, 1080i SDI signals that can be combined in the video wall environment to give a total resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels or 7,680 x 1,080 pixels. The HD outputs are converted into DVI and can be displayed on a 2 x 2 high-resolution video wall. On Barco’s OV-D2 video wall systems, each HD output can be further looped through and scaled across multiple projectors. This means that Orad’s PowerWall can present a frame-locked image across a 16-cube OV-D2 video wall.

Barco’s OV-D2 video wall series features the unique Sense6 sensor technology, which ensures uniform colors and brightness and across the entire screen. The video wall's high resolution rear-projection modules support 3,200K color temperature to match with the studio lighting. They provide excellent on-camera performance with full GenLock capability and offer wide viewing angles for maximum flexibility of camera positions.

Barco’s OVTS-50 display wall-touch system has also been combined with Orad's PowerWall interactive module. The combination will allow presenters to better interact with high-resolution backdrop content, for example by triggering animations.

Barco’s OVTS-50 Display Wall Touch System features high-precision touch screen technology from SMART Technologies which enables intuitive, finger-tip interaction on large-area, video-wall content. The technology is an add-on product integrated at the bottom of the video-wall screen. The OVTS-50 system delivers unmatched accuracy and responsiveness and ensures real-time interaction on Barco’s 50-in. video-wall cubes.
