Government Shutdown Would Enact Major Problems

Barring an 11th hour miracle or a sudden bipartisan surge, the federal government will shut down at the close of business April 8. A series of articles on money.cnn.com highlights the repurcussions. A few lowlights: government officials esimate 800,000 federal workers will be furloughed without pay (all those whose jobs aren’t necessary for the safety of human life or the protection of property, the report states). The Small Business Administration, which offers favorable loan terms for such small companies as signshops, will be shuttered, and any signshops that perform work for the government will have payments and approvals delayed by the disruption.
