Mike Lauretano, chairman of the board of Lauretano Sign Group (Terryville, CT) was presented the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award, the sign industry’s highest honor, on April 24, during the Intl. Sign Assn.’s (ISA) International Sign Expo 2014. The award is presented annually to a leader who has made significant contributions to the on-premise sign industry.
Lauretano served as president of the National Electric Sign Assn. – ISA’s predecessor — in 1988 and has served multiple terms on the ISA board of directors. Currently, he serves on the Direct Member Steering Committee, which advises the board. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast States Sign Assn., an ISA affiliated association.
“I am particularly proud of this award because of Kirk,” Lauretano said. “When I was young, Kirk took me under his wing and was a wonderful mentor. I have always admired him. It is such an honor to be recognized by an award that bears his name.”
Lauretano received his award from Chad Jones, ISA’s newly appointed chairman of the board.
