Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR) is introducing LC08 and LC12, 8.4- and 12.1-in. full-color, Active-Matrix LCD displays. The high-bright displays are optimized for specific outdoor kiosk installations. The LC08 and LC12 feature 1,000- and 1,500-nit display brightness, respectively, and built-in, thermal-management systems, which cool displays in direct sunlight. Optional vandal glass with Contrast Enhancement Technology is available to increase contrast ratio and protect the display from impact, the company reports.
