“Work/life balance — is that a thing?” Lannette jokes. As a wife of 25 years, a mom of four, “Lala” to two little grandkids and a signshop owner (nine years and counting) in a small rural town, it’s challenging. She has to close the shop to take time off. “I’m a one-woman shop with my mom in tow. I’ve learned the shop will be here when I get back and it’s OK to enjoy time away,” says Lannette. She loves camping with her whole “FAM BAM” (parents, in-laws, kids, nieces and nephews), four-wheeling in the dunes, and new adventures like zip-lining and kayaking. “Work/life balance is a thing,” she says. “Try it!”
