Planar TFEL Displays Selected for Chinese Railroads

Planar Systems Inc. (Beaverton, OR), a specialty-display manufacturer, has been named the official display provider for ultrasonic rail-flaw detectors deployed by Xingtai Xianfeng Ultrasonic Electronics on China’s entire railway network. Planar will supply 6,000, EL320.240.36HB display components, chosen by Xingtai Xianfeng for its proprietary, thin-film, electroluminescent (TFEL) display technology, that reportedly endures extreme temperatures, dust, shock, vibration and even G-forces.
