SGP Sustainability Summit Included State Legislators

The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP: Sayville, NY) Sustainability Summit was held on Oct. 17, in Atlanta drew influential voices dedicated to sustainability, according to the association’s newsletter. Themed “The Power of Sustainable Print in the Digital World,” the Summit tackled key topics: reducing carbon footprints, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), promoting circularity and using SGP certification for corporate responsibility.

Hosted at the LEED Certified Silver Facility, Riverside EpiCenter in Austell, Georgia, the event featured industry leaders discussing strategies like CO2 footprinting, environmental impact reduction, and the importance of SGP certification. Notable attendees include Georgia State Representatives Dewey McClain, Roger Bruce, Debra Bazemore and State Senator Donzella James, all engaged in sustainability issues in their districts.

Representative Dewey McClaim emphasized education and sustainable job opportunities. Representatives Roger Bruce and Debra Bazemore championed causes like education and economic development. Senator Donzella James focused on environmental cleanliness and essential services, such as healthcare — per the SGP newsletter.

Key moments included a keynote by Gary Jones, an SGP founder, highlighting sustainability’s future in print. Attendees also engaged in roundtable discussions on SGP certification, emission reductions and UNSDG alignment.

The Summit also spotlighted Georgia’s commitment to sustainable print practices, emphasizing collaboration between policymakers and industry leaders. SGP remains committed to fostering sustainability through such vital events.
