Avery Brothers Sign Company (Sioux City, IA) is getting some help from its hometown to construct a new $3 million facility.

The city council for Sioux City has signed off on a resolution that paves the way for the company to receive tax breaks on the project, the Sioux City Journal reports.

Specifically, the city is working with Avery Brothers on a development agreement that could offer tax rebates equal to 75% of the new taxes created on the property for a five-year period. Once the agreement is crafted, it will go to the council for consideration.

Avery Brothers is planning a 13,500-sq.-ft. facility that will include office and warehouse space alongside its shop operations, the article says. The new building will allow the 87-year-old signmaker to add three to four jobs to its 12-person payroll.

Avery Brothers was founded in 1935 by Milt Avery Sr. and Noel Avery Sr. Earlier this year, Steve Avery, a partner at the company, purchased full control of the shop from his two brothers. Jonathan Avery was then named general manager.
