Small-Biz Reps Partner with Town Council to Revise Sign Code

on

Small-business owners in Gilbert, AZ are banding together to amend the community’s sign code. Businesses in the area say low-visibility retail spaces make signage increasingly necessary, the AZ Central reported. Council representatives and administrators partnered with the Gilbert Small Business Alliance and conducted a small-business bus tour to hear concerns from small-business owners. Signage quickly emerged as a contentious issue. Eight subsequent meetings between town officials and small-business representatives produced a set of code amendments. A new code now allows up to half of monument signs to be digital signage.
