Tred Displays Corp. (Albuquerque, NM), the developer of a new, large-format display technology, is announcing it has agreed with SemaSys Corp. to jointly launch the HybridSignTM products, expected to ship in 3Q08. The two companies will develop and market HybridSign products for indoor, retail-signage applications.

HybridSigns integrate reflective digital content with traditional, printed graphics. They can be produced using existing signmaking workflow and require minimal power, compared to alternative LED products; thus allowing for battery operation. The slim, lightweight HybridSigns offer wireless communication; installation is fast and inexpensive, according to the company.

SemaSys supplies retail signage to the U.S. market. Tred Displays is a developer and manufacturer of large-format displays that leverage proprietary, meso-scale, electromagnetic technologies. The displays merge printed graphics with reflective, digital numeric content.

“Our commercial relationship with SemaSys moves Tred Displays from a technology-development company to a display-manufacturing company,” said Chuck Edwards, president and CEO of Tred Displays. “SemaSys is a leader in their market and makes an excellent commercial partner for Tred.”
