1 the first Wednesday in May, is National Skilled Trades Day, and signmaking certainly qualifies! Celebrate with employees during lunch or after work, or consider hosting an open house to the public to market your company to future tradespeople in your area.

4 The first Saturday in the month, MAY 4, will see the 150th running of The Kentucky Derby, “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports.” Some bars and restaurants may want temporary signage to attract the folks wanting to dress up in a frilly hat and enjoy a mint julep.

13 It’s no coincidence that National Apple Pie Day on MAY 13 immediately follows Mother’s Day, and may be one reason for the expression “mom and apple pie.” Invite your employees who bake to bring pies in for sharing, or spring for a gourmet pie (or two) at your local bakery.

24 Lastly, National Scavenger Hunt Day on MAY 24 also presents an opportunity to market your sign company to customers and prospective employees. If you haven’t already sponsored an open house, try one on this day, using a scavenger hunt to lead guests through your shop.
