2 is yet another Grounghog Day. Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow and bring us six more weeks of winter? Dating back to the 1840’s, this annual celebration is hilariously sent up in the 1993 Grounghog Day film with Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.

12 National Football Hangover Day on FEBRUARY 12, the day after Super Bowl LVIII, is fairly self-explanatory. Whether your rooting interest wins or loses, the commercials delight or disappoint, we’ll likely be more than over it all, so circle this day for some designated PTO.

13 You’ll need the rest if you plan to celebrate Mardi Gras in the traditional way on FEBRUARY 13. Enjoyed worldwide as a final day to party before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, don’t overdo, as coworkers may look askance at your second PTO day of the week.

29 Finally, we’d be remiss and miss a chance for four more years to shout out Leap Day on FEBRUARY 29. Here’s an interesting statistic: Annual beer sales rise by about 0.3% in years during which there’s a leap day, equating to one extra day’s sales. Too bad the same isn’t true of sign sales!
