HP Introduces Digital Signage for SMBs

Full-featured HP SignagePlayers deliver easy digital-signage solution

HP (Palo Alto, CA) is unveiling the HP SignagePlayer mp8000s and HP SignagePlayer mp8000r, the company’s new, digital-signage offering designed for small- to mid-sized businesses that want to deploy full-feature digital signage at a single location or across a small network.
The digital-signage players come pre-installed with Scala® QuickStart™ software, which features a simple visual interface for creating, managing and scheduling information. Beyond simple slideshows and video looping, the player enables sophisticated layouts with images, text, Adobe® Flash animations, RSS feeds and interactive content.
Built-in templates enable users to create visuals such as menu oards, instore promotions, lobby signage and infotainment. The system can provide health and insurance updates in doctor’s office waiting rooms and menuboard promotion changes at quick-service restaurants.
For businesses with space limitations, the HP SignagePlayer mp8000s supports content up to 720p in a small-device design that can be mounted behind the display. The HP SignagePlayer mp8000r features NVIDIA discrete graphics for the demanding 1080p content requirements.
The HP SignagePlayer mp8000s and HP SignagePlayer mp8000r are expected to be available in early December in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and the Netherlands.
