Daktronics (Brookings, SD) has installed reportedly the largest freeway-mounted electronic digital display in the United States for Barry Real Estate Group at Atlanta’s Allen Plaza. The 35 x 100-ft., 20mm LED display offers more than 3,500 sq. ft. of advertising space. Daktronics’ Venus 7000 control system will manage the display content.

The full-color display sits in the heart of downtown Atlanta at the nine-block, mixed-use development, which includes dining, hotel, residential, retail and office space.

Harvey Rudy, senior director, development, with Barry Real Estate, said, “It’s truly a unique medium. It’s a marketing opportunity unlike any other in Atlanta.”

According to statistics from Barry Real Estate, roughly 241,000 cars pass by the location daily. The display currently shows ads for Allen Plaza, AT&T, Turner Broadcasting System, the W Atlanta Downtown Hotel & Residence and other advertisers. Each static advertisement displays for 10 seconds before alternating.

Barry Real Estate has also reserved 10% of the display’s time for community service and has worked with Daktronics to connect it to the Amber Alert network.
