SIGNS OF THE TIMES is celebrating 120 years in print this month, having published our first issue in May 1906. To mark this momentous occasion, ST Editor-in-Chief Mark Kissling and Assistant Editor Mildred Nguyen visited the American Sign Museum (ASM) in Cincinnati. ASM Founder Tod Swormstedt provided a tour of several exhibits representing major technological advancements in the industry, from early electric and neon signs through opal glass letters and more.

ST’s May 2026 issue includes a feature article on the magazine’s history and another on the historically innovative signs seen in this video. We hope you enjoy this brief tour of the ASM and that you are able to visit in person, if you haven’t done so already. It’s well worth the trip!
