5 Do be late on SEPTEMBER 5 for Be Late For Something Day. For the chronically late, it’s just a Tuesday, but if you’re punctual, you might enjoy experiencing how the other half lives. Snooze your alarm, don’t look at clocks and leave something at home, so you’ll have to go back.

6 Then, on SEPTEMBER 6, join Fight Procrastination Day. Originally scheduled for September 7, organizers adjusted accordingly. But seriously, folks, if you tend to procrastinate or have a task you’ve been putting off, today’s a good day to address it.

15 Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of creation and the Jewish New Year, begins at sundown on SEPTEMBER 15. First of the Jewish High Holy Days, its best-known ritual is the blowing of the shofar, a musical instrument made from an animal horn. Shana Tova!

22 Last but not least, SEPTEMBER 22, the fourth Friday of the month, is Native American Day. First established (under a different name) as a California state holiday in 1939, Nevada soon followed suit. Take the opportunity to learn some history and culture of Native American peoples.
