Shop Pets

  • We would really love to see an article (and would be happy to be a part of the writing of said article, etc.) covering the impact that “shop dogs,” or really pets of any type, have on the well-being of staff and clients alike. We had to sadly say goodbye to our beloved 10-year-old office companion (mine and my wife’s fur baby) who came to work every day and affected the lives of staff, customers, vendors and more! — Derek Atchley, Atchley Graphics, Columbus, OH

Pesky permits

  • How do we help city and county planning departments speed up and simplify the permitting process? Seems since pandemic, permits have become more complex, more expensive and far slower to get approved and issued. — Jeff Thomas, Crossroad Sign Studio, Lynnwood, WA

Seasonal Demands

  • I would love to see if others are seeing a slow down in long-term projects. While we have a good forecast for the next three months, what is coming behind that has slowed. Normal winter doldrums or economic slowdown? — — Michael Snow, Innovative Sign Systems, Vista, CA
  • What is the seasonality like for summers? Are they typically lower than the rest of the year or higher? — Alex Fong, Signarama Redmond, Redmond, WA

Past and Future Suggestions

  • I would like to see a bit of traditional sign lettering. I realize that the sign industry has changed so much in the last couple of decades but there are some very talented signpainters enjoying the trade. — Nancy Wilde, Wilde Signs, Vernon, BC, Canada

Editor’s note: Traditional signpainting was just featured in our August issue.

  • Love the signs gone bad pictures. Maybe [a future article could include] pictures and articles about small to medium signs that can inspire design creativity. —John Samples, Signs 4 Less Inc., Erie, PA
