A Missouri City, TX restaurant owner claims a dispute over the wording of her sign is making it difficult for customers to find her restaurant, according to CBS affiliate KHOU 11. Meanwhile, the developer and HOA long-standing trademark and community rules give them no other option.

The sign for Tyla Simone Crayton’s restaurant, Sienna Wings, is under dispute due to the word “Sienna.”

According to the article, ”Crayton says she submitted the required paperwork and fees to replace the sign above her business with one that reads ‘Sienna Wings,’ but her request was denied. ‘We submitted all the forms, we paid the fees,’ she said. ‘And we recently just got back that we were denied the request for our sign because our name uses Sienna, and our name is Sienna Wings.’

And as a testimony to the value of on-premise signs in the age of Google Maps, Crayton says customers often struggle to find the restaurant — due to the name missing from the exterior signage and visible only on the front door.
